See the prototypes, design notes, and folding steps behind Pyramid.

Obtuse Triangular Pyramid
A flattened triangular pyramid whose apex solid angles are all 90 degrees. It is used as a fundamental element for forming the vertices of cubes and rectangular prisms.

Acute triangular pyramid
A slender triangular pyramid with a sharply elongated apex, offering strong structural stability. On its own, it is well suited for creating horn-like forms. By combining multiple units, it can be extended into solid structures such as cubes and square pyramids, making it a highly versatile structural element.

Composite Square Pyramid
A square pyramid with a sharply pointed apex. It can be constructed by combining four triangular pyramid units using a twisting fold. A frame-like structure forms inside the shape, giving it high structural strength.

Hollow Square Pyramid
A square pyramid with a hollow interior. Its height can be adjusted by changing the amount of paper used.

Collapsible Triangular Pyramid
A structure formed by vertically compressing an obtuse triangular pyramid using a three-dimensional sink-fold technique. The three-dimensional sink fold becomes a locked fold, resulting in a stable structure.

Asymmetric Triangular Pyramid
A triangular pyramid formed by deforming an obtuse triangular pyramid using a three-dimensional twisting fold. Its defining feature is a left–right asymmetric structure.

Octagonal Pyramid
A hollow pyramidal structure with a regular octagonal base. By adjusting the finishing folds, the apex angle can be narrowed, allowing the tip to become sharper.

Hexagonal Pyramid
A structure made by dividing each face of an obtuse triangular pyramid into two, transforming it into a hexagonal pyramid. By using locking folds, the shape can be maintained without glue.An early work in which I discovered that a polygon component can also be formed using a 22.5-degree system, rather than a grid-based structure.

Open Square Pyramid
An open square pyramid with unfilled faces, consisting only of its skeletal structure.

Semi-Filled Square Pyramid
A development of the Open Regular Square Pyramid, featuring a regular square pyramid with partially covered faces.

A prototype where I deform the base of the composit square pyramid by shifting it out of alignment.

I realized that by spreading the inner kado, it can be turned into an octagonal pyramid, so I made a prototype.

You can also push the pyramid section inward.

I realized that by modifying an obtuse triangular pyramid, it can become a regular hexagonal pyramid, so I made a prototype.
